2024 Scholarship Recipient
Ashtan Delacruz
Ashtan Delacruz was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on June 11th, 2024. Ashtan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Fair High School and surpassed with Honors. He graduated with a GPA of 6.6/7 and was ranked 81 in a class of 823. Ashtan was a member of the National Honor Society, where he would spend most of his volunteer hours at Community of Faith and attend Second Baptist Church. He contributed in Cross Country and Track, competing in races ranging from 400 meters up to 3.1 miles. Outside of school, he was also involved with pursuing the game of golf and practiced at Jersey Meadows Golf Course. Ashtan will attend Texas A&M University in the Fall of 2024 where he plans to pursue a degree in Biology. And finally, Ashtan aspires to be the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2028! Gig ‘Em Aggies!
2023 Scholarship Recipient Ryan Adamec
Ryan Adamec was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on May 17th, 2023. Ryan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Fair High School. Ryan was a 2 year varsity member of the Cy-Fair Football team, a part of NHS, the president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the Athletic Leadership Council, and active in the Cypress community through Younglife and Second Baptist Church. He will be attending Texas A&M in the fall to pursue a degree in engineering.
2022 Scholarship Recipient Andrew Tran
Andrew Tran was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship in May 2022. Andrew graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Fair High School and was a member of Science National Honor Society, key club, and National Honor Society. He was a 3 year member of the Cy-Fair varsity orchestra and member of the Cy-fair varsity tennis team. He is an active member in the Christ the Redeemer Catholic church and Community of Faith youth ministry. Andrew will enter Texas A&M in the Fall of 2020. He will pursue a degree in engineering and intends to be the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2024! Gig ‘Em!
2021 Scholarship Recipient Lessley Zometa Ardon
Lessley Zometa Ardon was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on May 10th, 2021. Lessley graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cypress Falls High School. She was a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa, CRU, and Spanish Club. She was also a member of the Cy-Falls Varsity Soccer Team. In addition to extra-curricular activities at Cy-Falls, Lessley was an active volunteer in our local community providing child care at her church, visiting nursing homes, and working as an election clerk. She will enter Texas A&M in the fall of 2021 where she plans to pursue a degree in Neuroscience.
2020 Scholarship Recipient Ashley Tran
Ashley Tran was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on May 27th, 2020. Ashley graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Fair High School with a GPA of 6.83 and was ranked 12th in a class of 893. She was a member of the UIL Literary Criticism Team, Science National Honor Society, and National Honor Society. Ashley was a founder and secretary of Cy-Fair High School’s Finance Club. She was a three year letterman on the Bobcat’s Varsity Tennis Team. She is an active member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, and plan’s to be an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in College Station. Ashley will enter Texas A&M in the Fall of 2020. She will pursue a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology (Pre-Med track) and intends to be the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2024! Gig ‘Em!
2019 Scholarship Recipient Haley Boatcallie
Haley Boatcallie was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on May 13th, 2019. Haley graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Fair High School. She was a member of Cy-Fair Brigade, National Honor Society, and UIL Accounting Team. Outside of school, she participated in service activities with her church youth group. Haley will enter Texas A&M in the fall of 2019 where she will pursue a degree in Nursing.
2018 Scholarship Recipient Elissa Grosz
Elissa Grosz was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on June 6th, 2018. Elissa graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Fair High School. She graduated with a GPA of 6.5/7 and was ranked 78 in a class of 889. She was a member of the Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and National Honor Society. Elissa played softball for the Bobcats for four years, earning two varsity letters. Elissa is also an active member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. She will enter Texas A&M in the fall of 2018 where she will pursue a degree in Mathematics with a minor in Business.
2017 Scholarship Recipient Dena Radwan
Dena Radwan was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on May 15th, 2017. Dena graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Falls High School. She graduated with a GPA of 6.62/7 and was ranked 53 in a class of 888. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math NHS), Ro Kappa (Social Studies NHS), and served as historian of MSA (Muslim Student Association). Dena was active in Cy-Falls Interact Volunteering Club, serving as Treasurer her Junior year and President her Senior Year. Dena will enter Texas A&M in the fall of 2017 where she plans to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. Gig 'em Aggies!
2016 Scholarship Recipient Abigail Farrell
Abigail Farrell was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on May 17th, 2016. Abigail graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cy-Fair High School. She is a member of the Texas Association of Future Educators, Ready Set Teach!, National Honor Society, and National Technical Honors Society. Abigail was active in Cy-Fair Brigade (Drill Team), serving as chaplain her junior year and President her senior year. Abigail will enter Texas A&M in the fall of 2016 where she plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. Gig 'em Aggies!
2015 Scholarship Recipient Tea Turko
Tea Turko was awarded the Eric Bassett Memorial Scholarship on May 18th, 2015. Tea graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cy-Falls High School with a GPA of 6.47/7. She was born in Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 2000. At Cypress Falls High School, Tea was a member of the National Honor Society, PALs, and the MOB. She also served as Vice President of the Class of 2015. Tea enjoyed spending time volunteering at the Bosniak Cultural Community Center, Teen Study, Grace Care, and K2 Academy. Tea will be attending Texas A&M in the fall of 2015 where she plans to pursue a degree in Industrial Distribution.
